A Time When We Were Younger

Posted by
Robert D. Burr (Kingston, Ontario, Canada) on 19 April 2016 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

Found in an abandoned house and the source of many imagined stories. Although this little abandoned house was a treasure for a photographer, I was very sad while I was there as the contents of the house insinuated a story of possible tragedy and loneliness in the final days.

As a photographer I enjoy your positive comments about my photographs however, what I would really appreciate is your helpful thoughtful critiques. It is only through your eyes I will learn to work better. I wish I could respond to all your wonderful comments but I may not be able to respond to every one due to time consumption....which I would prefer to use looking at your images but I do read them all and enjoy them. Thank you......Dennis

Merci ...... Den

Curious how the mind awake when you look old objects. I immediately thought of my brothers and his collection of aircraft of World War II. they are grandparents.
An image full of longing and sadness ... ... image also full of human feelings and sensations ... that we can share with ease. Thanks for your words...
Best, Dennis

Elaine Hancock from Rockville, United States

This image has a story to tell. I love how you composed it. I also find sadness in abandoned homes. I always wonder what circumstances drove the families away.

@Elaine Hancock: Thanks Elaine. It is alway very curious how things work out and often we have no control over circumstances.

Harry from Apex, NC, United States

looks like a country kitchen

STEED from D, France

I agree,Dennis ....I've same thoughts and same ideas in same situations .....I think we are Dreamers and Imaginative, but it's always something walking in parallel with Photography .....Well done ..

@STEED: Thanks so much JC. I don't think anyone could shoot in a situation such as this and not have some sort of emotional connection with the past.
