Bedford Mills No. 6

Posted by
Robert D. Burr (Kingston, Ontario, Canada) on 17 September 2015 in Architecture and Portfolio.

The sixth in a series of my favourite buildings to photograph. I have shot this lovely from many angles and all seasons. The buildings date from 1848 and their was originally an older sawmill on the same site. The area was thriving but declined and the town of Bedford Mills is now considered a ghost town.

As a photographer I enjoy your positive comments about my photographs however, what I would really appreciate is your helpful thoughtful critiques. It is only through your eyes I will learn to work better. I wish I could respond to all your wonderful comments but I may not be able to respond to every one due to time consumption....which I would prefer to use looking at your images but I do read them all and enjoy them. Thank you......Dennis

Merci ...... Den

A lovely composition and looking at this photo it could well be 1848... the fabulous greens of the trees and in the reflections are quite striking. The roof seems to need some repair and other little things but since it's a ghost town I guess it will just continue to deteriorate. Very nice!

@Carol: Thanks Carol. There is only a church and this house still standing in this village but both are in use and constantly under repair.
